Adoption of Resolution No. 78-73, approving acceptance of a Grant Deed from <br /> Castlewood Enterprises for the dedication of Street Right-of-way and Grant Deed <br /> for the dedication of a Recreational Easement. <br /> <br />i. Approval by motion of the request by Foothill High Booster Club to hang banner <br /> on the Main Street Sign, April 13-23, 1978. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Kephart, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~ETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Review of a negative declaration to rezone approximately 60 acres of land located <br />between Crellin Road and the City Limit Line at the end of Arbor Drive from the <br />R-1-6.~00 and R-1-20~000 (Single Family Residential) Districts to the HPD (Hillside <br />P.l~nned Development),...PUD..(Planned Unit Development) or any other zoning district <br />in conformance with the General Plan which the City finds to be appropriate. <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer declared the Public Hearing open on these two <br />items and continued to the meeting of May 9, 1978, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council <br />Chambers. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Ap.pointment of Member on City Council to fill the unexpired term of former Council- <br />member Herlihy. <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that interviews had been conducted on April 7, 1978, for <br />consideration of persons to fill the unexpired term of former Councilmember Herlihy, <br />and that it was now in order to make the appointment. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes suggested that nominations be made and voted on, as in <br />previous procedures. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood emphasized that Council should make their selection solely on <br />the person who could best serve the interests of the City, putting aside any other <br />reason. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he would now entertain a motion for nomination of a person <br />to fill the unexpired term of former Councilmember Herlihy. <br /> <br /> There being no motion made, Mayor Mercer moved to place the election of a new <br />City Council member on the November ballot. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, to name Alan Grossman as the new City <br />Council member. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, to name Gilbert Maines as the new City <br />Council member. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> 2. 4/11/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
