SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Appointment to the Historical Advisory Committee to Replace Judy Hanhy <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Judy Hanhy had resigned from the Historical Advisory <br />Committee for personal reasons and that it was now in order to replace her on this <br />committee. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, that Resolution No. 78-69, appointing Ms. Carol Branon, 272 Rose Avenue <br />to fill the unexpired term of Judy Hanhy on the Historical Advisory Committee, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Kephart, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Appointment to the LAVWMAPolicy Advisory Committee <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he would like to appoint Councilmember Kephart to serve <br />on this committee. Council concurred unanimously that Councilmember Kephart be <br />appointed as Pleasanton's representative on the LAVWMA Policy Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />Request from G.E. Vallecitos for support of resumption of full operation <br /> Mr. Ted Slosek, 480 Pine Hill Lane, representing G.E. Vallecitos, presented <br />a report regarding this matter, and requested that Council write a letter to the <br />Nuclear Regulatory Commission supporting the resumption of normal operation at <br />G. E. Vallecitos. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that the Mayor be authorized to communicate to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission <br />Pleasan~ n's support for resumption of safe and productive operation at G.E. <br />Vallecitos. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Kephart, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Slosek advised Council that hearings regarding this matter were to be <br />scheduled in this area in the near future and that he would advise Council of <br />the time and place. He requested a representative of the City be present at <br />these hearings in support of G. E. Vallecitos. <br /> <br />City Council Consolidate List of Applicants and set time for .public interviews <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that 12 resumes had been received for consideration to <br />fill the vacant City Council seat, that Council had reviewed each of the resumes, <br />and that it was now in order to select who would be interviewed for this position. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, <br />that each Councilmember write down a list of persons he desired to be considered <br />as Councilmember, present this list to the City Manager, and then the City Manager <br />list on the blackboard those persons receiving two or more votes from the Council's <br />lists, and that these persons be interviewed in public. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes and Kephart <br />NOES: Councilmember Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he felt all endorsements should be made in public according <br />to the guidelines previously established by Council. <br /> <br /> 2. 4/4/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
