MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 4, 1978 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br /> Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br /> Flag. <br /> <br />· ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as <br /> follows: Councilmembers Brandes Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present <br /> Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Director <br /> of Public Works and Utilities, were present. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown requested that an item be added under Special Reports - Matters <br /> for the Information of the Council. Mr. Levine also requested to add an item <br /> for the Information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested the following items be added under Special Reports. <br /> <br />1. Request from G.E. Vallecitos for support of resumption of full operation. <br /> <br /> 2.Appointment to Historical Advisory Conmittee to replace Judy Hanhy. <br /> <br />3.Appointment to the LAVI~MAPolicy Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart requested that an item be added under Special Reports <br /> regarding City Council opposition to the Jarvis-Gann Initiative. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENR~R <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Proclaim April 9-16, 1978, as Week of the Young Child, in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-68, approving City-State Cooperative Agreement <br /> for Stoneridge Drive Overcrossing Project. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Kephart, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> William G. Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, apologized to the City Council for the <br />behavior of the residents of Pleasanton Meadows at the previous meeting regarding <br />Council's decision on the General Plan Amendment for a proposed shopping center <br />in that area. He urged Council to rescind their action on this matter. <br /> <br />Presentation of Certificates of Election <br /> Mayor Mercer presented Certificates of Election to newly elected Council- <br />members Kephart and Wood. <br /> <br /> <br />
