This item <br />was for the information of the Council and no action was required or taken. <br /> <br />Civic Center Expansion <br /> Mr. Brown presented his report dated February 21, 1978, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested the Council to reconsider any future expan- <br />sion of the Civic Center in light of rising construction costs, and reiterated <br />his opposition to the expansion of the Civic Center. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember LeClaire, that Resolution No. 78-48, rejecting all bids on con- <br />struction of expansion of the Civic Center, instructing staff to include <br />$100,000 in the 1978-79 Budget for second year funding for this project, and <br />determining to reconsider the expansion of the Civic Center and construction <br />of a Police Office after the June Ballot, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 5. 3/1/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
