Application of Thomas M~Manus for a general plan amendment to change <br />the land use desiSnation of an approximately 66-acre parcel of land located <br />between the Youth Sports Park and the Arroyo Mocho immediately east of Hopyar~. <br />Road from "Parks and Recreation" to "Medium Density Residential" <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated February 7, 1978, regarding the Environ- <br />mental Impact Report and Application of Thomas McManus. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open'on the Environmental Impact <br />Report and Application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peter Turner, 2150 Valdez Street, Oakland, Attorney representing Thomas <br />M~Ianus, presented a brief background of the subject property. He requested a <br />continuance of sixty days on this item to allow the property owner to meet with <br />City staff and representatives of City Council to discuss various alternatives <br />for development or sale/swap of the 66-acre parcel of land adjacent to the Youth <br />Sports Park. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to the Environmental Impact Report <br /> or the Application. <br /> <br /> After Council discussion regarding the merits of a continuance, it was moved <br /> by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, to continue the <br /> public hearing open on review of an environmental impact report for an approxi- <br /> mately 66-acre parcel of land located between the Youth Sports Park and the Arroyo <br /> Mocho immediately east of Hopyard Road, and GP-76-6, Application of Thomas McManus <br /> for a general plan amendment to change the land use designation of an approximately <br /> <br /> 2. 2/15/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
