MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> February 15, 1978 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox were present. Council- <br />member LeClaire was absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Campbell, Director of <br />Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Harris, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development, Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, and <br />Mr. Caporusso, Director of Recreation and Human Resources, were present. <br /> <br />AGE~A AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested that an item be added as item 10e - Request of Castlewood <br />Country Club, Re: Use of l~est Pleasanton Sewer Line. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox requested the Minutes of January 30, 1978, be corrected on <br />page 6, under EnergX Conservation to reflect he did not concur with Council- <br />members Mercer, Herlihy and LeClaire on increasing the point value allocated <br />to energy conservation. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy stated that with regard to the disbanding of COVA, <br />he felt it should be made clear that the City of Pleasanton is still willing <br />to meet at any time with other Valley agencies on any item of Valley-wide con- <br />cern, and that he felt COVA had served a useful purpose. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, together with amendments <br /> thereto, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 1-16-78, 1-17-78, 1-24-78, 1-30-78 as <br /> amended showing that Mayor Philcox did not concur with the motion on Energy <br /> Conservation on page 6 of the Minutes, and 2-2-78. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-30, approving Claims for the month of January, <br /> 1978, in the amount of $356,011.40. <br /> <br />c. Approval by motion of request by Amador Valley Adult School to hang Banner <br /> on Main Street Sign February 27-March 3, 1978. <br /> <br />d. Proclaim Week of February 12, 1978, as Crime Prevention Week in the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br />e. Proclaim February 25 and 26, 1978, as Pleasanton-Livermore Elks Major Pro- <br /> ject Bowl-A-Thon Days in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />f. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-31, approving reclassification of one Assistant <br /> Civil Engineer. <br /> <br /> <br />
