City Council express its intent to convert the City's street light system to <br />high pressure sodium vapor lights; (2) High pressure sodium vapor street lights <br />shall be installed in all new developments with the developer continuing to pay <br />the qualifying charge; (3) In all new subdivisions the spacing of lights shall <br />be increased where possible, consistent with safety requirements, in order to <br />minimize the number of new lights installed; (4) In all new developments the <br />developer shall pay for the pole and the City will assume ownership; (5) Staff <br />shall develop a more detailed program for conversion to be included in the <br />budget review process for the Fiscal Year 1978-79 Budget; (6) Light fixture <br />lumen levels shall be reduced generally consistent with the recommendations <br />contained herein at the time the fixture is changed; and (7) Staff shall con- <br />tinue to review the street light system and order the removal of additional <br />street lights where justified, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Consideration of ABAG Environmental Management Task Force Report <br /> Mr. Brown requested this item be continued to the meeting of January 30, 1978, <br />for consideration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, <br />that the consideration of ABAG Environmental Management Task Force Report be <br />continued to the meeting of January 30, 1978. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeC!aire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />~:OES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Bid Results on Sale of YMCA Buildin8 - 287 Rose Avenue <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the report of the Director of Engineering Services <br />dates January 18, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 78-26, awarding the sale of the two- <br />story house located at 287 Rose Avenue to Harris Realty Company for the s~m of <br />$1,739.50 subject to bidder entering into a contract with the City spelling <br />out the details of the transaction; approving the execution by the proper City <br />officials the contract mentioned above; approving the removal of three large <br />trees on Rose Avenue in front of the building that will be necessary for moving <br />the building and construction of the street project; and acknowledging the <br />City's commitment to sell one sewer connection to the successful bidder if the <br />house is subsequently moved to a location sewered by the City's Sunol Plant, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Interceptor Sewer Pro~ect <br /> Mr. Brown presented his report dated January 23, 1978, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> 8. 1/24/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
