Mayor Philcox declared the continued public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sam Alfaro, 3752 Linwood, Oakland, representing Oakland Neon Signs and <br />E1 Charro Restaurant, spoke in favor of the appeal. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to the appeal. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Herlihy, that Resolution No. 78-22, denying the appeal of Oakland <br />Neon Signs to a decision of the Design Review Board denying Case Z-77-184, an <br />application for design review for a 2~'x14' internally illuminated wall sign <br />proposed to be installed on the building located at 435 Main Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, and LeClaire <br />NOES: Councilmember Mercer and Mayor Philcox <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire stated she would like to see an ordinance adopted that <br />would phase out all illuminated cocktail and restaurant signs in the downtown <br />area that detract from the Pleasanton image. <br /> <br />Appeal of the City Council to a decision of the Board of AdjUstment in approving <br />Application V-77-5 of Darwin Datwyler for a Variance to Sections 2-5.35 and <br />2-5.36(b) of Article 3~ Chapter 2~. Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br />Pleasanton to allow the subdivision of a parcel of land into seven lots~ one of <br />which would not have the required street frontage and several others which would <br />not meet the code requirements for minimum lot depth and widths. the p~operty is <br />located between the Arroyo del Valle and the extension of the Del Valle Parkway~ <br />southeast of the intersection of the Del Valle Parkway and Harvest Road~ the <br />property.is zoned iM-2000 (Multiple Residential) District (Continued Open from <br />5-9-77, 5-23-77, and 7-25-77) <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated January 17, 1978, regarding this matter, <br />and stated that since the Variance was no longer valid there was no need for the <br />appeal and recommended the item be permanently withdrawn. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the continued public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, <br />that the appeal of the City Council to a decision of the Board of Adjustment in <br />approving Application V-77-5 of Darwin Datwyler for a Variance to Sections 2-5.35 <br />and 2-5.36(b) of Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City <br />of Pleasanton to allow the subdivision of a parcel of land into seven lots, one <br />of which would not have the required street frontage and several others which <br />would not meet the code requirements for minimum lot depth and width, the pro- <br />perty is located between the Arroyo del Valle and the extension of the Del Valle <br />Parkway, southeast of the intersection of the Del Valle Parkway and Harvest Road, <br />the property is zoned RM-2000 (Multiple Residential) District, be permanently <br />withdrawn. <br /> <br /> 4. 1/24/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
