Brown presented his report dated October 4, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he concurred with the staff report, and that he <br />felt City Council should meet with all Boards and Commission at least once a <br />year or more often as necessary. <br /> <br /> }~yor Mercer presented a memorandum from Councilmember Wood suggesting that <br />Councilmembers rotate attending the Housing Authority Board meetings in order <br />to become more knowledgeable of that Board's activities. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he felt a joint meeting with the Housing Authority <br />Board was in order and should be held as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council scheduled a joint meeting between the Housing <br />Authority Board and City Council on October 30, 1978, 7:30 P.M., with the loca- <br />tion of the meeting to be determined later. <br /> <br />Alternate'Locations for City Council Meetings (Contd. from 9-12-78) <br /> Mr. Brown presented his report dated September 5, 1978, ~egarding this matter. <br />He stated that since the time the report had been written he had been in negotia- <br />tions with the Fair Director for use of the Fairgrounds Cafeteria for City Council <br />and Board and Commission meetings. He stated that as of this date permission had <br />been granted for use of the Cafeteria on Tuesday and Wednesday nights except dur- <br />ing the Fair at a cost of $10.00 per meeting, and if meeting last past midnight <br />$12.00 additional per hour for a guard. Mr. Brown advised that the negotiations <br />should be completed effective January 1, 1979. <br /> <br /> Council concurred with the use of the Fairgrounds Cafeteria for City Council <br />and all other City Board and Commission meetings, and instructed the City Attorney <br />to prepare the necessary documents for this use. <br /> <br /> Eouncil commended staff, Lee Hall, Bill Gale, and Dee Wilson for their <br />efforts in the successful settlement of this matter. <br /> <br /> Andrew McCall, reporter for the Independent, requested that the Press have a <br />table facing the audience as well as the Council, at the Cafeteria location. <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to reserve some other suitable location for Council <br />and Cormmission meetings during the time of the Alameda County Fair when the <br />Cafeteria is not available. <br /> <br />Fees and Charges - Buildin~ Inspection Division (Contd. from 10-3-78) <br /> Mr. Cullum presented his report dated September 28, 1978, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 78-268, amending the resolution <br />establishing fees and charges for various municipal services of the City of <br />Pleasanton (Resolution No. 77-123) to increase certain fees for building divi- <br />sion services as recommended by staff, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Wood <br /> <br /> s. lo/lo/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
