After discussion, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed and the <br />appeal of Wendell Collins to a determination that an Environmental Impact Report <br />is required for a hillside residential subdivision proposed for the approximately <br />50 acre parcel of land located north and west of the end of Longview Drive, with- <br />drawn from the agenda. <br /> <br />Application of Tri,CitiesAmbulan.~e~ In~...? for an ext?~s~on .o.f ~.home occupation <br />permit to operate an ambulance service out of the residence at 4195 Francisco <br />Str.e~t~ Pleasa~tp.n~ .zpn~p.~ of the Rrop~rty is. R-1-6500 .(Sing!.e Family) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated September 5, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roger Koni, representing Tri-Cities Ambulance Company, urged approval of <br />the extension on the home occupation permit to allow the Ambulance Company to <br />continue to operate out of a residence at 4195 Francisco Street. He stated his <br />firm had been looking for a commercial site to relocate but had not been success- <br />ful in this endeavor as yet. He pledged to continue the upkeep of the property <br />where they are presently located. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Marge Turley, 4178 Francisco, stated the Ambulance Company has been a <br />very good neighbor, had created no problems, and appeared to be approved by all <br />the residents in the area. She also emphasized the need for an ambulance located <br />in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Otis Bradshaw, 7208 Tulipwood, urged approval of this application because of <br />the need for an ambulance housed in the City. <br /> <br /> No one spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Resolution No. 78-236, approving the application of Tri-Cities Ambulance, <br />Inc. for an extension of a home occupation permit to operate an ambulance ser- <br />vice out of the residence located at 4195 Francisco Street, Pleasanton, zoning <br />of the property is R-1-6500 (Single Family) District, for an indefinite period, <br />subject to conditions contained in the report of the Director of Planning and <br />Community Development dated September .5, 1978, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSE}~: None <br /> <br /> Council commended Tri-Cities Ambulance Company for providing a fine service <br />and being a good neighbor in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />}ZETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (Contd.) <br /> Otis Bradshaw, 7208 Tulipwood, requested Council to consider giving perma- <br />nently disabled persons on fixed incomes the same discount on water and sewer <br />bills as is allowed for senior citizens. He also requested these people be <br />eligible for a Gold Card.
