Mayor Mercer read a communication from William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, <br />expressing opposition of the return of the Rescue Vehicle to the County. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer declared the Recommendation to Return <br />Chevrolet Rescue Modulance Vehicle to County, continued to the meeting of <br />September 12, 1978, for full Council attendance. <br /> <br />Review of Proposed Street Name ChanSesl Johnson Industrial Drive and a portion <br />of Santa Rita Road <br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated August 21, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor <br />Mercer, that Resolution No. 78-221, changing the street names of Johnson Industrial <br />Drive to Johnson Drive, and Santa Rita Road, from the Main Street bridge to the <br />Western Pacific Railroad tracks, to Main Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEN~f: Councilmen Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />Parade Application - Foothill High School <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report dated August 16, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt that under the strict budget constraints <br />due to Proposition 13 the City should not pay the City costs incurred for this <br />parade and that Foothill High School Band Boosters Club should pay for these <br />expenses. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes that the Parade Permit for the Foothill <br />High School Band Boosters Club be approved but that the school be required to <br />reimburse the City for City expenses incurred in connection with this parade. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes that this item be continued for the <br />City Council meeting of September 12, 1978, for full Council attendance. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Don Willjams, Director of the Foothill High School Band, stated the Booster <br />Club would pay for actual expenses incurred by the City if required to as this <br />event was their major fund raiser for the Band. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes to approve the parade application <br />of Foothill High School Band Booster Club, with City expenses incurred, not to <br />exceed $825.00, to be reimbursed bythe Booster Club to the City. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he felt there should be a policy decision on <br />the matter of reimbursement to the City for City expenses incurred on parades, <br />to be determined by the entire Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor ~{ercer stated he had no opposition to Foothill High School Band Booster <br />Club not being charged for any City expenses incurred. <br /> <br /> 9. 8/29/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
