139 <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kephart, Wood, and Vice Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />Increase in Sewer Service Charges <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared this item continued to the meeting of August 8, <br />1978, for full Council attendance. <br /> <br />Adoption of 1976 Uniform Buildin~ Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Codes with <br />Modifications and Amendments <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared this item removed from the agenda and rescheduled <br />for the meeting of August 29, 1978. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Brown advised Council that the Annual League of California Cities Confer- <br />ence would be held in September and if Council had any resolutions they wanted <br />to be considered by the League Resolutions Committee, these should be submitted <br />by August 16. Mr. Brown stated this matter would be discussed further at the <br />meeting of August 8, 1978. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown presented the attendance report of the Planning Commission and the <br />Park and Recreation CoF~mission for the period January through June, 1978. <br /> <br />Lxtension of Bidding Process and Modification of Interceptor Sewer Specifications <br /> Mr. Campbell presented an oral report regarding this matter. tie stated that <br />due to some confusion on the demolition portion of the bid specifications he <br />requested this be deleted and the bid time extended two weeks to allow contractors <br />opportunity to resubmit bids. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 78-189, deleting the demolition portion from the bid specifications <br />for the Interceptor Sewer Project, and extending the bid time by two weeks, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kephart, Wood, and Vice Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Report, Re: Cost Accounting for Weed Abatement <br /> Mr. Levine presented the report of the Fire Marshal dated July 19, 1978, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes opened the public hearing on this item to see if anyone <br />desired to challange the costs of weed abatement. <br /> <br /> Mr. Art Dunkley, 844 Division Street, stated he o~med property at Vineyard <br />and Pico but had not been notified of the weed abatement process, therefore, he <br />did not feel he should be on the lien list. The City Attorney advised he would <br />check into this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes asked if the railroad companies could be held accountable <br />for weeds along railroad tracks.
