It was moved by Vice Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that Resolution No. 78-188, denying the appeal of Joseph Madden to a decision <br />of the Board of Adjustment denying Case V-78-13, his request for a Variance from <br />the requirements of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to allow the <br />installation of an off-site "For Lease" sign on property located on the north- <br />west side of Santa Rita Road south of Highway 1-580, because proper findings <br />could not be established to allow the Variance, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Kephart and Vice Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: Councilman Wood <br />ABSENT: Councilman Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to review the sign ordinance with possible expansion <br />regarding commercial development. <br /> <br />Application of the Planning Commission to amend Article 1~ qh~?ter 2~ Title II <br />- <br />of the Ordinance Code of the cit7 of Pleasanton as it relates t0. p~rking require- <br />ments for liquor stores <br /> (Contd. from 6-27-78, for languajlec. larification) <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on this item and continued <br />it to the meeting of August 8, 1978, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers, for <br />full Council attendance. <br /> <br />~TTERS COi~INUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS A~ CO~IISSIONS <br />Action Taken by th.e Pla~n~n~ Commission on Items at their meeting of July 12, 1978 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated July 14, 1978, regarding this matter. <br />Vice }~yor Brandes stated he had appealed the Conditional Use Permit of Tam In- <br />vestment Company to allow the use of a small portion of the 1.8 acre "P" zoned <br />property located on the north side of Valley Avenue at Hopyard Road for the <br />parking of automobiles in conjunction with a shopping center proposed to be <br />located immediately west of the subject site. The Council had also requested <br />a review of the design review approval of the proposed center. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Residential Allocation Program Designation for Retirement Centers <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared this item continued to the meeting of August 8, <br />1978, at the request of Robert Myers, per telephone conversation this date. <br /> <br />Request for Use of Septic Tanks on Foothill Road under H.P.D. <br /> Mr. Broom presented his report dated July 19, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. ltirst, Attorney, 147 Bernal Avenue, representing a client, asked for a <br />sense of direction from the Council regarding the use of septic tanks on a <br />proposed hillside planned development on Foothill Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated he was not prepared to give an opinion on the <br />matter at this time. <br /> <br /> 4. 7/25/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
