After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />..... Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 79-65, approving the application of <br /> Thomas K. Mc}lanus for a General Plan amendment to change the land use designa- <br /> tion of a 5 acre parcel of land located immediately westerly of the terminus of <br /> Sutter Gate Avenue and southerly of the Arroyo Mocho Canal from "Parks and Re- <br /> "M ' <br /> creation" to edlum Density Residential", be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Vote to Continue the Meeting <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that due to a new policy established by Council recently <br /> a vote would be taken at 11:30 P.M. to determine whether or not to continue the <br /> meeting, and that it was now in order for such a vote. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, that the <br /> meeting be continued at this time to complete discussion on the remainder of items <br /> on the agenda. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Application of Castlewood Enterprises for a General Plan amendment which would <br /> chan.ge the land use designation of a 2.5 acre site located at the southeast <br /> quadrant of the junction of Junipero Drive with Sunol Blvd.~ from "Public and <br /> Institutional" to "Commercial and Offices" and "High Density Residential". <br /> ~o~Shly. 1.6 acres of the site adjacent to Sunol Blvd.~ would become "Commercial <br /> and Offices"; the remainin.g easterly 0.9 acres would become "High Density Resi- <br /> dential". A Negative Declaration of environmental impacts will also be con- <br /> sidered <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated April 16, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on the application and the <br /> Negative Declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, partner of Castlewood Enterprises, stated he concurred <br /> with staff and Planning Commission recommendations for approval as contained in <br /> the report. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this matter. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing <br /> closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br /> that Resolution No. 79-66, determining on the basis of a review of initial en- <br /> vironmental study done for this project, that no significant environmental <br /> impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative <br /> Declaration is appropriate for a General Plan amendment which would change the <br /> land use designation of a 2.5 acre site located at the southeast quadrant of <br /> "Pu ' <br /> the junction of Junipero Drive with Sunol Boulevard from bloc and Institu- <br /> · l" <br /> t~ona to "Commercial and Offices" and "High Density Residential"; that roughly <br /> 1.6 acres of the site adjacent to Sunol Boulevard would become "Commercial and <br /> Offices" and the remaining easterly 0.9 acres would become "High Density Resi- <br /> dential", be adopted. <br /> <br /> 8. 4/24/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
