Mc}lanus for a General Plan amendment to change the land use designa- tion of a 5 acre parcel of land located immediately westerly of the terminus of Sutter Gate Avenue and southerly of the Arroyo Mocho Canal from "Parks and Re- "M ' creation" to edlum Density Residential", be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes NOES: None ABSENT: None Vote to Continue the Meeting Mayor Brandes stated that due to a new policy established by Council recently a vote would be taken at 11:30 P.M. to determine whether or not to continue the meeting, and that it was now in order for such a vote. It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, that the meeting be continued at this time to complete discussion on the remainder of items on the agenda. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes NOES: None ABSENT: None Application of Castlewood Enterprises for a General Plan amendment which would chan.ge the land use designation of a 2.5 acre site located at the southeast quadrant of the junction of Junipero Drive with Sunol Blvd.~ from "Public and Institutional" to "Commercial and Offices" and "High Density Residential". ~o~Shly. 1.6 acres of the site adjacent to Sunol Blvd.~ would become "Commercial and Offices"; the remainin.g easterly 0.9 acres would become "High Density Resi- dential". A Negative Declaration of environmental impacts will also be con- sidered Mr. Harris presented his report dated April 16, 1979, regarding this matter. Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on the application and the Negative Declaration. Mr. Ted Fairfield, partner of Castlewood Enterprises, stated he concurred with staff and Planning Commission recommendations for approval as contained in the report. No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this matter. There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 79-66, determining on the basis of a review of initial en- vironmental study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate for a General Plan amendment which would change the land use designation of a 2.5 acre site located at the southeast quadrant of "Pu ' the junction of Junipero Drive with Sunol Boulevard from bloc and Institu- · l" t~ona to "Commercial and Offices" and "High Density Residential"; that roughly 1.6 acres of the site adjacent to Sunol Boulevard would become "Commercial and Offices" and the remaining easterly 0.9 acres would become "High Density Resi- dential", be adopted. 8. 4/24/79
