Betty Nail, 4198 Peregrine Way, who presented a petition signed by 54 <br /> residents which read as follows: "We, the undersigned, <br /> object to an amendment to the General Plan to change the <br /> land use designation of a four-acre site located at the <br /> northeast corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road <br /> from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion" to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion." <br /> Roberta Lewis, 4158 Rennellwood Way <br /> Bill Cash, 4132 Morganfield Court <br /> Hike Murphy, 4202 Morganfield Court <br /> Ken Geppert, P. O. Box 136, representing the Planning Commission <br /> <br /> Mr. Jones rebutted the concerns expressed by the opponents of the application. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Hayor Brandes declared the public hearing <br />closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. ._ <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 79-62, determining on the basis of a <br />review of initial environmental study done for this project, that no significant <br /> Cit ' <br />environmental impact would occur as outlined in the y s guidelines and that a <br />Negative Declaration is appropriate for an amendment to the General Plan to change <br />the land use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast corner of <br />Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and <br />R ' " <br /> ecreat~on to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recreation", be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer and Wood <br />NOES: Councilman Kephart and Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 79-63, denying the application of <br />Longs Drug Stores, Inc., for an amendment to the General Plan to change the land <br />use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast corner of Valley <br />Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and Re- <br />creation" to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recreation", be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: Councilmen ~{ercer and Wood <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes recessed the meeting at 10:05 P.M. <br /> <br /> }~yor Brandes reconvened the meeting at 10:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Application of Stoneson DqV.el. ppment Company for a ~eneral plan amendment to chanSe <br />the land use designation of a 91.5 acre site located at the southwest intersection <br />of 1-580 and 1-680 from "Hi$h Density Residenti'al", "'Public and Institutional"', <br />and "Park; and Recreation", to "Commercial and Office", '~>'~bfic' and Institutional", <br /> "Hi h <br />and ¢g Density Residential".
