Betty Nail, 4198 Peregrine Way, who presented a petition signed by 54 residents which read as follows: "We, the undersigned, object to an amendment to the General Plan to change the land use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and Recrea- tion" to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recrea- tion." Roberta Lewis, 4158 Rennellwood Way Bill Cash, 4132 Morganfield Court Hike Murphy, 4202 Morganfield Court Ken Geppert, P. O. Box 136, representing the Planning Commission Mr. Jones rebutted the concerns expressed by the opponents of the application. There being no further testimony, Hayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. ._ After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 79-62, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental study done for this project, that no significant Cit ' environmental impact would occur as outlined in the y s guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate for an amendment to the General Plan to change the land use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and R ' " ecreat~on to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recreation", be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer and Wood NOES: Councilman Kephart and Mayor Brandes ABSENT: None After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 79-63, denying the application of Longs Drug Stores, Inc., for an amendment to the General Plan to change the land use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium Density Residential" and "Parks and Re- creation" to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recreation", be adopted.
