Lawrence Livermore Laboratory <br /> Councilmember Butler presented his report dated April 24, 1979, regarding <br />adoption of a resolution supporting the activities of the Lawrence Livermore <br />Laboratory. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 79-61, in support of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Litter in Pleasanton Canal near Sports Park <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that Zone 7's Pleasanton Canal, which is adja- <br />cent to the Sports Park, is heavily littered with debris of all types. Council <br />instructed the City Manager to bring this matter to the attention of Zone 7 to <br />alleviate the litter conditions. <br /> <br />Scheduling of General Plan Amendments <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that when General Plan Amendments are scheduled <br />on the agenda, when they are several as are on tonight's agenda, that the meeting <br />be started earlier or that two meetings be scheduled to review these public hear- <br />ings. <br /> <br />Conditions~ Covenents and Restrictions <br />Mayor Brandes requested that staff prepare a report regarding the CC&R's <br />(Conditions, Covenents and Restrictions) attached to properties and how the City <br />can structure its ordinances not to conflict with them. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMi~ITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of Longs Drug St~res, Inc., for an amendment to the General Plan to <br />change the land use designation of a four-acre site located at the northeast <br />corner ofya__ll~ey Avenue and Santa Rita Road from "Medium DenSitX Residential" <br />and "Parks and Recreation" to "Commercial and Offices" and "Parks and Recrea- <br />tion <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the pot.ential environmental impacts of the <br />project~ the P.lan~ng Director has determined that the proposed project <br />not have. any potential .significant adverse effects on the environment and that <br />an environmental impact report need not be prepared. The Initial Study is <br />available for review at the Planning De.partmept~ 200 Bernal Avenue~ Pleasanton. <br />Commen_ts on t~!s.~eqision may be directed to either the planning.
