The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and }~yor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMD{BERS <br />By Mayor Brandes: Housin~ Element Ratio <br /> D~yor Brandes stated this matter had been discussed by the Planning Commission <br />and it was their recoFmendation that the Housing Element goal of 75%-25% single- <br />family to multiple units be modified to 80%-20%, in connection with a General Plan <br />amendment to change the land use element designation of a 91.5 acre site at the <br />southwest corner of 1-580 and 1-680 for Stoneson Development Corporation. Mayor <br />Brandes stated it was appropriate for Council to discuss such a housing element <br />ratio change independent of the proposed land use element modification. <br /> <br />The City Attorney presented his report dated April 18, 1979, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, Civil Engineer in Pleasanton since 1962, stated he felt the <br />Housing Element ratio of 80-20% was a more realistic goal for the City and presented <br />several reasons for this conclusion. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Susan Scott, 1590 Foothill Road, stated she felt that no change should be <br />made on this matter until after review of the new Housing Element study which is <br />to be completed by City staff in the Fall. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mercer, that the Housing Element Ratio remain at 75%-25% single-family to <br />multiple units. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, and Wood <br />NOES: Councilman Kephart and Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Butler, instructing the City Manager to seek Housing and Community <br />Development funds for a scope of services housing survey that will examine the <br />current market, local needs and the desire of community residents with regard to <br />single-family and multiple housing. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br />National Secretaries Week <br /> In appreciation and recognition of the Secretaries at City Hall, it was moved <br />by Councilmember ~Jood, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, that the City Council proclaim <br />the Week of April 23-27, 1979, as National Secretaries Week in Pleasanton. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br /> 2. 4/24/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
