MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL April 24, 1979 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, Mr. ~rris, Director of Planning and Community Development, and Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Brown advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this meeting to discuss personnel. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 4-10-79. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-55, approving Claims for the month of March, 1979, in the amount of $500,295.45. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-56, approving and providing for the execution of Project Agreement for Land and Water Conservation Fund Project - Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park Phase III. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-57, awarding contract, Assessment District No. 1974-1, Stoneridge, Foothill Road, to O. C. Jones and Sons. e. Introduce Ordinance No. 882, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, amending Ordinance No. 655, "Swimming Pools" deleting sub- section 2-18.42(b) in its entirety and substituting a new subsection 2-18.42(b) as follows: "when any work is to be done by persons other than the prime con- tractor or licensed subcontractors in his employ, separate, additional permits shall be procurred by the person or persons doing such work, and an additional fee paid therefore". f. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-58, accepting Public Improvements on Cedarwood Lane, Parcel }.~p 2764. g. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-59, making application to Alameda County Local Agency Formation Commission requesting Initiation of Proceedings for proposed Annexation No. 74, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977. h. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-60, awarding the contract for abatement of weeds in 1979 to Spilker Tree Services, Inc., and authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract to have the work performed.
