After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 79-24, making application to Alameda <br />County Local Agency Formation Commission requesting initiation of proceedings <br />for proposed Annexation No. 73 pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of <br />1977, that all of the property owners be notified of this action by City Council, <br />and that ~. Harris meet with the homeowners prior to prezoning to get their input <br />on the area to be annexed, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, and Wood <br />NOES: Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS co ss o s <br />Actions Taken by The Board of Adjustm. ent~ Desi~p Review Board, and Plannins Com- <br />mission at their meeting .6~ ~ebr.uary 20, 1979 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated February 21, 1979, regarding this matter. <br />He advised Council that an appeal had been submitted by Brad Hirst to the decision <br />of the Design Review Board prohibiting egress onto Hopyard Road from the Burger King <br />Restaurant proposed to be located approximately 700 feet south of 1-580 on the east <br />side of Hopyard Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt the entire application of Burger King <br />should be reviewed by Council. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, to appeal the decision of the Design Review Board in approv- <br />ing the application of Grace Lane Company for design review approval for the con- <br />struction of a 3352 square foot restaurant on a 1-acre site located on the east <br />side of Hopyard Road approximately 700 feet south of 1-580. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Brown advised that six applications had been received thusfar for the two <br />vacancies on the Park and Recreation Commission. After discussion, Council deter- <br />mined to conduct interviews for these positions on March 13, 1979, beginning at <br />6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown advised that he and the Fire Chief would be conducting trial runs <br />with fire equipment on Longview Drive on Friday, March 2, 1979, at 4:00 P.M., in <br />connection with the Longview Project to determine accessibility of fire apparatus <br />to this area. He invited Councilmembers to participate in this test if they so <br />desired. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown stated he had been advised by the Housing Authority Board that they <br />had nothing specific to discuss at the joint meeting with the City Council sche- <br />duled for March 20, 1979. After discussion, Council determined to cancel the <br />joint meeting with the Housing Authority Board scheduled ohMarch 20, 1979. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown recommended that the.Regular City Council Meeting of March 27 be <br />changed to }~rch 29, to allow maximum time possible for public review of the <br />Draft Environmental Impact Report regarding the Del Valle Parkway Extension. <br />Council concurred. <br /> <br /> 6. 2/27/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
