Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, stated he concurred with the C-F <br />category changes but cautioned against having too many roads parallel with the <br />highway. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Council reviewed each category in the C-N, C-C, C-S, C-F, and C-A Districts <br />as presented in the report of the Direct of Planning and Community Development <br />dated January 23, 1979, and made various amendments thereto. Council concurred <br />with the staff~s recommendation to add two categories; Gymnasiums and health clubs, <br />including massage services and Recreation and sports facilities indoors, including <br />massage services, and that both of these categories should be conditionally allowed <br />only in the C-C and C-S Districts. Council also concurred with the request of <br />Willow West Properties to add auto sales and related services, recreational vehicle <br />sales, and furniture sales as conditionally allowed uses in the C-F District, but <br />not to include financial institutions in this District. Mr. Harris recommended <br />that financial institutions be allowed as conditional uses in the C-A District. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Ordinance No. 878, be to read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />amending Section 2-7.08(a) of Article 8, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code <br />of the City of Pleasanton which would revise comprehensively the schedule of permitted <br />and conditional uses in all of the commercially zoned districts except the CR(M) and <br />CR(P) Districts of the City of Pleasanton, with changes as recommended by Council to <br />the uses categories listed in the draft ordinance attached hereto, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> The City Attorney advised that Ordinance No. 878 would have to be reviewed by <br />the Planning Commission before adoption by the Council due to the number of changes <br />not considered by the Commission. <br /> <br />}~TTERS CO~I~YED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Annexation No~ 73 -..Stanley Boulevard <br /> l.lr. Campbell presented his report dated February 21, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> rce . <br /> ~yor Me r stated he had received a telephone call from Mrs Caton, 4049 <br />Stanley Boulevard, expressing opposition to this proposed annexation. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding a meeting that was to have been scheduled <br />with property owners on Stanley Boulevard before annexation proceedings were <br />initiated to ascertain their desires regarding this matter. Staff advised the <br />meeting had not been held as yet with the property owners. Councilmember Wood <br />stated he felt this meeting should be held to receive public input before continu- <br />ing with annexation proceedings. Mr. Harris explained that prezoning on this <br />property would be reviewed by the Planning Commission in April and that a meeting <br />could be held with the property owners before the item is reviewed again by Council. <br /> <br /> Earl Augusta, 3963 Stanley Boulevard, stated he felt the Council's commitment <br />to meet with the involved property owners should be kept in order to learn of the <br />homeowners desires regarding annexation and to answer any questions or concerns of <br />the affected residents. <br /> 5. 2/27/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
