Mayor Mercer inquired as to the status of a report he requested recently <br />regarding condominium conversion. Mr. Levine advised the report would be con- <br />sidered at the same time that the Subdivision Ordinance is reviewed, which will <br />be sometime in February. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested Council consideration of his report dated December <br />5, 1978, relative to Council policy regarding citizen input at public meetings+ <br />After discussion, it was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Wood, that Resolution No. 79-4, determining that the Pleasanton City Council <br />herein establishes the following as a governing policy as it relates to the <br />involvement of citizens input at all public meetings: (1) all citizens wishing <br />to speak on any item on an agenda may do so; (2) theMayor shall be responsible <br />for controlling the length and order in which the public shall be allowed to <br />speak; and (3) all items of the City Council agenda will be open for comments <br />from interested citizens, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL C~MITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated that the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Ce~ncil would <br />like to sponsor a contest for a City Logo that could be used for presentation to <br />visitors as a memento of the. City of Pleasanton. They requested City financial <br />assistance in the prize money for the contest in the amount of $112.~0. Joyce <br />Getty, President of the Chamber of Commerce, stated she felt the present City <br />Seal was not very meaningful and that a new logo, possibly using the Pleasanton <br />Arch, would be more appropriate. After discussion, it was moved by Ceuncilmember <br />Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the City participete in the <br />sponsorship of a contest conducted by the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Ce~ncil for <br />a logo for the City of Pleasanton. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler and Kephart <br />NOES: Councilmen Brandes, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Councilwould like <br />to be considered as a commission and would like to have a facility om City pro- <br />perty in order to eliminate paying taxes.
