.... Mr. Wally Wallher, 6375 Clark Avenue, Dublin, applicant, presented a rendering <br /> of the proposed commercial office building. He read two letters of support from <br /> the Pleasanton Meadows Homeowners Association and the Pleasanton Meadows Townhouse <br /> West Homeowners Association. Mr. Wallnet stated he felt this site is best suited <br /> for an office project because of the major street adjacent to the proposed complex, <br /> that it will not generate any significant increase tn traffic, the street is built <br /> to handle this kind of building, will not decrease any major housing units, will <br /> generate tax dollars for the City, and will not add to the school load. Mr. Wallnet <br /> added that he already had tenants lined up for the proposed complex. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing <br /> closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Mayor <br /> Brandes, that Resolution No. 79-253, approving the application of Iver Hilde and <br /> Walter R. Wallnet for an amendment to the General Plan which would.change the land <br /> use designation of the one acre parcel of land located on the east side of Santa <br /> "Hi h <br /> Rita Road ~mmediately north of the fire station from g Density Residential" to <br /> "Commercial and Offices". be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that due to the above vote, the application of Iver Hilde <br /> and Walter R. Wallnet, GP-79-17, was denied. <br /> <br /> Application of the City Council to amend the Land Use and Growth Management Elements <br /> of the General Plan to eliminate the General Plan policies relating to the "Urbani- <br /> zation Line" which designated the limits or urbanization of the City for the period <br /> up to 1996 <br /> <br /> On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the pro- <br /> ject~ the Director of Plannin~ and Community Development has determined that the <br /> proposed project would not .have. any potential significant adverse effects on the <br /> environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. This <br /> Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division~ 200 Bernal Avenue~ <br /> Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed to either the Planning. staff <br /> prior to the above meet.~n~ date, or directly to the City Council at the above <br /> noticed meeting <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, <br /> that the City Council withdraw their application to eliminate the general plan policies <br /> relating to the Urbanization Line. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Application of Taubman Company, Inc., for an amendment to the General Plan which would <br /> change the Land Use designation of the property. located on the northeast corner of <br /> Foothill Road and Stoner~dge p~.ive from "Public and Institutional" (planned BART <br /> station) to "Commercial and Offices".
