.... Mr. Wally Wallher, 6375 Clark Avenue, Dublin, applicant, presented a rendering of the proposed commercial office building. He read two letters of support from the Pleasanton Meadows Homeowners Association and the Pleasanton Meadows Townhouse West Homeowners Association. Mr. Wallnet stated he felt this site is best suited for an office project because of the major street adjacent to the proposed complex, that it will not generate any significant increase tn traffic, the street is built to handle this kind of building, will not decrease any major housing units, will generate tax dollars for the City, and will not add to the school load. Mr. Wallnet added that he already had tenants lined up for the proposed complex. No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Mayor Brandes, that Resolution No. 79-253, approving the application of Iver Hilde and Walter R. Wallnet for an amendment to the General Plan which would.change the land use designation of the one acre parcel of land located on the east side of Santa "Hi h Rita Road ~mmediately north of the fire station from g Density Residential" to "Commercial and Offices". be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilman Mercer NOES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Brandes ABSENT: None Mayor Brandes stated that due to the above vote, the application of Iver Hilde and Walter R. Wallnet, GP-79-17, was denied. Application of the City Council to amend the Land Use and Growth Management Elements of the General Plan to eliminate the General Plan policies relating to the "Urbani- zation Line" which designated the limits or urbanization of the City for the period up to 1996 On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the pro- ject~ the Director of Plannin~ and Community Development has determined that the proposed project would not .have. any potential significant adverse effects on the environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. This Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division~ 200 Bernal Avenue~ Pleasanton.
