would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative Declaration <br />is appropriate to fezone a 5 acre site on the north side of Happy Valley Road be- <br />tween the Western Pacific Railroad and 1-680 from the I-P (Industrial Park) District <br />to the "O" (Office) District, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Ordinance No. 911, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of John Caroline to rezone a 5 acre site on the north side <br />of Happy Valley Road between the Western Pacific Railroad and 1-680 from the I-P <br />(Industrial Park) District to the "O" (Office) District, and amending the Zoning Map <br />of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> ' <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~pplication of Castlewood Interprises to rezone a 9.84± acre site located on the <br />east side of Foothill Road approximately 550 feet south of Bernal Avenue from the <br />R-1-6500 (Sing!e-Fa~ilX Residential) DiStrict (6,5Q0 sq. ft. minimum lot size) to <br />the R-1-20~000 (Single-Family Residential) District (20~00,0. s~. ft. minimum lot <br />size). The City Council may recommend approval of the ~roposed chan~e or may re- <br />commend rezoning the property to any other zoning district consistent with the <br />General Plan <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Stud~ of the potential environmental impacts of the <br />~roject, .the Director of Planning and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed project would not have any potential sig.nificant adverse effects on <br />the environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepare. d. <br />This Initial Stud~ is available for review at the Planning Division, 200..Bernal <br />Avenue~ Pleasanton. Comments on this..~ecision ma~ be directed to either the <br />Plannin~ staff prior to the above meet~n~ date~ or direCtl~ to the Cit~ Council <br />at the above noticed meetin~ <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated October 4, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> ~yor Brandes declared the public hearing open on the application and the <br />Negative Declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, partner of Castlewood Interprises, stated he concurred with <br />the staff report and emphasized that the property had been downzoned and that the <br />rezontng would bring the property into conformance with the General Plan. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing <br />closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 79-185, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this pro~ect, ~hat no significant environmental impact ~ould occur as <br /> Cit ' <br />outlined in the y s guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate to <br />rezone a 9.84+ acre site located on the east side of Foothill Road approximately 550 <br /> i <br />feet south of'Bernal Avenue from the R-1-6500 (Single-Family Residential) Distr ct <br /> <br /> 6. 10/9/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
