Mr. Lance Ruckteschler, 2224 Greenwood Road, stated he disagreed with the staff report and felt there was a great need for traffic controls on Valley at Greenwood for the safety of children going to school and various sports activities after school hours and on Saturday. He suggested that stop signs be installed on a tem- porary basis to see if this would alleviate the problem. He pointed out that the speed survey was done while school was not in session and it would increase with speeding high school students. Mr. Gregg Doherty, 2282 Greenwood, stated he favored additional controls, at Valley and Greenwood. He stated that enforcement of the speed limit is essential for the safety of pedestrians in this area. Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, stated he concurred with the two pre- vious speakers. Councilmember Mercer stated he did not agree with the staff report and felt that additional traffic controls should be installed. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 79-174, amending the Traffic Resolution to place a four-way Stop sign at Valley Avenue and Greenwood Road, for a period of one year on a trial basis, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and MayorBrandes NOES: Councilman Butler ABSENT: None It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that a four-way Stop sign be placed at Valley Avenue and Crestline Road, for a period of one year on a trial basis. Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly. (Introduced 9-11-79~ 4,AXes~ 1-No). Mayor Brandes stated that Ordinance No. 902 was introduced on September 11, 1979, by a vote of 4-Ayes, 1-No, and that it was now in order to adopt the ordi- nance. It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Ordinance No. 902, prezoning an approximately 35 acre parcel of land owned by Ernest Pestana located between the Rosepointe Subdivision and Happy Valley Road innnediately westerly of Amber Lane to the R-1-20,000 (Single-Family Residential) District (Zoning Unit Map #192), be adopted.
