Alameda County to review jail facility planning, be presented at the Mayors' Con- <br />ference and that the current Judicial Committee be an advisory committee to this <br />group. <br /> <br /> After further discussion relative to City Council policy regarding the court <br />facility, jail and pre-trial detention facilities, Council instructed staff to <br />prepare a policy statement for approval at the City Council meeting of September <br />18, 1979. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by'Councilmember Kephart, that <br />the Board of Supervisors consider Aric Glanville for appointment to the Post- <br />Sentence Advisory Committee in place of Stanley Kephart. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Amendment to Zone 7 Water Supply Agreement <br /> Mr. Brown presented his report dated August 27, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Resolution No. 79-167, approving Agreement No. 2 to Contract between Zone 7 <br />of Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and the City of <br />Pleasanton for a treated water supply, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Proposed Annexation No. 77 (Pestana) <br />(Continued from 8-28-79) <br /> This item was considered after item 8a on the agenda. <br />Joint Arson Grant PropoSal' <br /> Mr. Brown presented his report dated September 6, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Resolution No. 79-168, supporting the Livermore-Amador Valley Arson Control <br />Program grant application and committing City matching funds not to exceed $8,000, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report~ R%.: Al.ameda Cqpnty Solid Waste Management_ Authority <br />Mr. Brown presented his report dated September 6, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, to <br />advise the Alameda County Solid Waste Management Authority of the City of Pleasan- <br />ton's preference for: (1) a strong local role in solid waste management with the <br />Authority having plan review powers; (2) continued operation of the Authority under <br />a joint powers agreement with appropriate changes made to assure the Authority can <br />adequately deal with conflicts between individual agency proposals and the Solid <br />Waste }~nagement Plan; and (3) a final Solid Waste Management Plan that preserves <br />local options to the extent possible and which relates all goals specifically to <br />economic considerations. <br /> <br /> 11. 9/11/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
