The ro. ll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes NOES: None ABSENT: Counci!man Kephart It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the application of Alfred Fronun for an amendment of the Land Use Element of the General Plan which would change the designation of a roughly 98 acre parcel of land located at the northeast corner of 1-680 and Bernal Avenue from "Agricul- ture and Grazing" to. "Commercial and Offices/Industrial" and changing the land use designation of all that land located between 1-680 and Valley Avenue extension (roughly 115 acres including lands of Alameda County and San Francisco Water De- partment) as indicated above, subject to conditions as established by Planning Commission Resolution No. 1766, and Condition 1 amended as requested by staff, be approved. Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative declaration. Mr. John Van de Roovaart, representing the applicant, stated this proposed project will be a show piece office, be an asset to the community, and create less traffic than other types of commercial development.
