On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of t~e project, the Director of Planning and Community Development has determined that the proposed project would not have any potential signi- ficant adverse effects on the environment and that an environmental im- pact report need not be prepared. This Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division, 200 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed to either the Planning staff prior to the above meeting date, or directly to the City Council at the above noticed meeting, open public hearing and continue to 7-24-79. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS There were no matters initiated by Councilmembers presented at this meeting. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the Council. Mayor Brandes advised that Councilmember Kephart had been appointed as a member of the Alameda County Regional Criminal Justice Planning Board for a two year term ending June, 1981. Councilmember Kephart thanked the Mayorst Conference and the City Council for their support of his appointment. ~yor Brandes stated that the Mayors~ Conference had unanimously supported his resolution to further study opening of the diamond lanes eastbound on 1-580. Mayor Brandes advised that he and others would be meeting with the Sierra Club this week regarding this matter. Mayor Brandes read a letter from Vermillion Development Company commending the Pleasanton Fire Department and Chief Hill for their quick response and effective action to a fire in one of their townhouse condomintums under construction on the Del Valle Parkway. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Mrs. Ruth Freis, 1520 Catalina Court, Livermore, representing Inter-Act, pre- sented a letter to the City Council requesting clarification of Pleasanton's policies and procedures related to CETA. }~yor Brandes advised that the City Manager would respond to the concerns of Inter-Act upon his return from vacation. 2. 7/i0/7g
