MINUTES
of
THE MEETING
of
THE CITY COUNCIL

July 10, 1979

CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to
order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

ROLL CALL
Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows:
Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Council-
member ~.Iercer was absent. Mr. Walker, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Levine, City
Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris,
Director of Planning and Community Development, were present.

AGE~AAI.IEN~MENTS
The following amendments were made to the agenda:

item 4a - Approval of City Council Minutes for June 26, 1979, continued to 7-24-79.

item 4b - Adoption of Resolution Delegating Certain Authority to City Manager in
the Processing of Disability Retirements, continued to 7-24-79.

item 8d - Application of Ponderosa Homes for an amendment to the Land Use Elemen.t
of the General Plan which would comprehensively change the land use
designations on a 240-acre site located between 1-680 and Hopyard Road
north and west of the existing development along Hansen Drive and Via
Quito. The changes would remove the planned school sites and rearrange
the proposed locations of parks, high density residential, and medium
density residential development on the site. The City Council may re-
commend approval of the requested change or recommend any other change
in land use designation.

On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts
of the project, the Director of Planning and Community Development has
determined that the proposed project would not have any potential signi-
ficant adverse effects on the environment and that an environmental im-
pact report need not be prepared. This Initial Study is available for
review at the Planning Division, 200 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton. Comments
on this decision may be directed to either the Planning staff prior to
the above meeting date, or directly to the City Council at the above
noticed meeting,

open public hearing and continue to 8-28-79.

item 8e - Application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone a 37 acre area located
along Stanley Boulevard between Main Street and First Street-Stanley
Boulevard roadway to the R-i-20,000 (Single-Family Residential) District
(generally the westernmost 17.5 acres) and the C-S (Service Commercial)
District (generally the eastern 19.5 acres) or any other zoning district
consistent with the General Plan.
