and shall contact the Town Affiliation Association for further information regarding <br />the town of Yotsukaido, Japan, and should there be enough interest generated by the <br />citizens of Pleasanton in the future, the Council will investigate the affiliation <br />with a sister city on its own behalf, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Walker presented the Information Report of the Director of Public Works and <br />Utilities dated September 5, 1980, regarding the Environmental Impact Statement <br />concerning operation of 1-580 HOV lanes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Information Report of the Director of Public Works and <br />utilities dated August 29, 1980, regarding Minutes from =he Staff Traffic Committee <br />Meeting of August 21, 1980. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Information Report of the City Attorney regarding the <br />appointment of Brian Swift as half-time Legal Assistant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented his Information Report dated September 10, 1980, regarding <br />the City Council Agenda Planning Report for September, October, and November. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented the Information Report of the City Attorney dated September <br />16, 1980, regarding proposed ordinance regulating noise, stating the final draft <br />will be presented at the City Council meeting of September 23, 1980. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the terms of three Human Services Conmissioners will <br />expire October 22, 1980. After discussion, Council determined to advertise for <br />these term expiration vacancies, with deadline for submission of resumes October <br />3, 1980, and interviews scheduled for 7:30 P.M., on October 13, 1980. <br /> <br />Extension of Contract with Cogperattve Personnel Systems <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the AsSistant to the City Manager dated <br />September 4, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart asked if this contract is for a set amount per year or <br />paid for as the services are needed. Mr. Walker advised the services are paid for <br />as used. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Resolution No. 80-235, approving a three-year contract with Cooperative <br />Personnel Services for the provision of various entry level and promotional <br />employment examinations, and authorizing the City Manager to execute said con- <br />tract on behalf of the City of Pleasanton, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Claim A~inst the City bx .Stanley Janes <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated September 3, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> lO. 9/16/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
