On the basis of an Initial Study of .t.h~ potential environmental impacts of the <br />project., .the Director of Plannin~ and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed project would n.ot have any potential significant adverse effects on <br />~'he environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. <br />7his Initial stu.~y is available for review at the PlanninM Division~ 200 Bernal <br />Avenue~ Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed to either the <br />Plannin~ staff prior to the above meeting date~ or direct. ly to the City Council <br />at the above noticed meeting <br /> (Contd. Open from 5-13-80 and 6-10-80) <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing continued Open on this item to the <br />meeting of October 14, 1980, 8:00 P.M., at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria, at the <br />request of the Attorney for the appellant. <br /> <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to certify. that the Final Environmental <br />Impact Repor.t.prepared for the possible adoption of a weight limitation ordinance <br />for vehicles traversing Stanley Boulevard-First Street-Sunol Boulevard through .. <br />Pleasanton has been completed in compliance with CEqA and the State Guidelines <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report SR 80:207 regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. James Cox, Martinez, Attorney representing Lone Star Industries, requested <br />this item be continued to the City Council meeting of September 23, 1980, as he <br />had not had sufficient time to review the material contained in the Environmental <br />Impact Report. The City Attorney advised the ordinance process would not be de- <br />layed by continuing this item for sixty days. Mr. Levine noted that the City <br />would not be disadvantaged by delay. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Heck, representing Kaiser Sand and Gravel Industries, asked if Council <br />had received Kaiser's letter objecting to the Environmental Impact Report. The <br />City Attorney advised the letter had been received and is a part of the record. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she felt sufficient time and notice had been given <br />for consideration of the draft Environmental Impact Report and she was opposed to <br />any continuance of this item. Councilmember Kephart concurred. Councilmember <br />Butler stated that since the continuance would not delay the ordinance process <br />he felt it only fair to honor the request of Lone Star-Industries for additional <br />time to review the EIR. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, to continue <br />the application of the City of Pleasanton to certify that the Final Environmental <br />Impact Report prepared for the possible adoption of a weight limitation ordinance <br />for vehicles traversing Stanley Boulevard-First Street-Sunol Boulevard through <br />Pleasanton has been completed in compliance with CEQAand the State Guidelines, <br />Open to the meeting of September 23, 1980, 8:00 P.M., at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria, <br />at the request of Lone Star Industries so that the gravel company could comment <br />further. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Kephart and Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Review of the draft revised Housing Element of the General Plan of the City 0f <br />Pleasanton formulated pursuant to State Government Code Section 65302 and State <br />Housin~ Element Guidelines.
