It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Ordinance No. 938, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving the application of Golden Gate Racquetball Courts for development plan approval of a 33,920 sq. ft. racquetball facility on a 1.23 acre site at "Old Hop- yard Road" just south of 1-580, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Develop- ment) District, be introduced. Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. Mr. Major Singleton, 4311 Stanford Way, Livemore, representing Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith, stated the owners of the taxi company did not want to have the Certi~ ficate of Public Convenience and Necessity revoked. He stated they were installing communication equipment in their cabs which would assist in their operation in Pleasanton. He added there would be two cabs operating in Pleasanton. No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Council- member Butler, to continue the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity cur- rently held by Floyd Leon Smith and Louise Grace Smith for the purpose of operating a taxi within the City of Pleasanton under the name of Valley Cab Company, will all conditions as established in Resolution No. 79-219 adopted November 13, 1979.
