It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Ordinance No. 938, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of Golden Gate Racquetball Courts for development plan <br />approval of a 33,920 sq. ft. racquetball facility on a 1.23 acre site at "Old Hop- <br />yard Road" just south of 1-580, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Develop- <br />ment) District, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Revocation of Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity cu.rren~ly held .by <br />Floyd Leon Smith and Louise Grace Smith for the purpose. of opera. ting a.~.a~i within <br />the City of Pleasanton under the name of..~alle~ Cab Company <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Assistant to the CityManager dated July <br />7, 1980 regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Major Singleton, 4311 Stanford Way, Livemore, representing Mr. and Mrs. <br />Floyd Smith, stated the owners of the taxi company did not want to have the Certi~ <br />ficate of Public Convenience and Necessity revoked. He stated they were installing <br />communication equipment in their cabs which would assist in their operation in <br />Pleasanton. He added there would be two cabs operating in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Council- <br />member Butler, to continue the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity cur- <br />rently held by Floyd Leon Smith and Louise Grace Smith for the purpose of operating <br />a taxi within the City of Pleasanton under the name of Valley Cab Company, will all <br />conditions as established in Resolution No. 79-219 adopted November 13, 1979. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember'& B~'ler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Abandonment of the street ri~htlof-way of the old alignment of Black Avenue near <br />~pyard Road <br /> Mr. Schanmburg presented his report dated July 15, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Resolution No. 80-190, approving the abandonment of the street right-of-way of the <br />old alignment of Black Avenue near Hopyard Road, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 7. 7/22/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
