Adoption of Resolution No. 80-182, approving Agreement between the City of <br /> Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Housing Authority describing the duties and <br /> services which must be performed by both the City and Housing Authority in <br /> administerin~ a project funded by the Housing and Community Development Pro- <br /> gram for Kottinger Place improvements. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, to <br />send a letter of appreciation to the Amador Livermore Valley Exchange Club for <br />their outstanding efforts in conducting a successful Fair Parade on June 22, 1980. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: .Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Kephart <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood suggested that a letter be sent to the Alameda County Fair <br />Board Association expressing appreciation for their efforts in the Pleasanton Day <br />activities at the Fair. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood. suggested that the Chamber of Commerce honor Chan Henderson <br />in their upcoming Heritage Days activities. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated he had requested, at the last meeting, a list of <br />furniture needed at the fire station and that he had not yet receivedLthis infor- <br />mation. Mr. Walker advised he would get the list to Councilmember Wood as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that he and other City and County representatives had met <br />with Mr. Jerry Enomoto, State Director of Prisons, and Assemblyman Mori, on March <br />25, 1980, at which time the City was assured that plans for a women's correctional <br />facility at Santa Rite were being abandoned. Mayor Mercer advised he had now re- <br />ceived a letter from Sheriff Glenn Dyer with attachment of another letter from <br />Supervisor Valetie Raymond, stating that further pursuit of this facility was being <br />considered. }~yor Mercer stated the Council has gone on record several times in <br />opposition to the proposed facility and have advised the approrpiate State and <br />County officials of this position. He expressed confusion as to what to do now <br />to get this message across to the appropriate persons. After discussion, Council <br />instructed staff to send telegrams to the State Prison officials and State repre- <br />sentatives reiterating the City's opposition to the proposed women's correctional <br />facility at Santa Rita. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested that the City consider the prohibition of parking on <br />Division Street from the bridge to the railroad tracks, and instructed staff to <br />contact the residents on this street to determine if they would be in favor of or <br />opposed to this regulation. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br /> 3. 71818o <br /> <br /> <br />
