No action was required or taken by Council on this item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Resolutio~ ~rd&rin~ the Annexation of AnneXation. ~o. 77 (Pestand) <br /> This item was moved to item lob on the agenda and discussed under Special Reports. <br /> <br />Traffic Study - Valle~ Avenue and Crestline~ Northwa~ and Crestlinex and Northway and <br />Fairfield <br /> Mrl'~alker presented the reports of the Director of Engineering Services dated <br />May 2~, 1980 and May 27, 1980, regarding this matter. Mr. Walker advised that the <br />latest traffic counts revealed that a Stop sign is warranted at Northway and Crest- <br />line, but not at Valley Avenue and Crestline. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that <br />Resolution No. 80-144, approvin~ the installation of a two-way Stop sign on Northway <br />Road at its intersection with 'Crestline Road, and amending the Traffic Resolution <br />accordingly, Be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers But~r, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Kephart, that a 4-way Stop sign be installed at Valley Avenue and Crestline Road. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, and Wood <br />ABSENT: -None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Mayor Mercer directed staff to report back on Black <br />Avenue traffic problems with recommendations to make this a safer street. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the shrubber~ had been trimmed at Northway Road and <br />Fairfield Court, as requested by Council at the meeting of May 13, 1980. <br /> <br />Report Re: Citizens Traffic Committee <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report dated May 21, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding having a Councilmember as liaison to the <br />Staff Traffic Committee; lack of City personnel to provide staff services to a <br />citizens traffic review committee; and invitin~ the public to attend Staff Traffic <br />Committee meetings to present their traffic problems. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer instructed staff to provide Council with a copy of the 1977 Traffic <br />Report and a further report with recommendations re~arding formulation of a citizens <br />traffic committee.
