It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 80-104, after hearing no objections at the public hearing, authorize <br />the appropriate staff members to proceed with the abatement of the nuisance caused <br />by noxious or dangerous weeds growing on certain properties in the City of Pleasanton <br />as more particularly set forth in Exhibit A to Resolution No. 80-67, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />An ordinance adoptinK. by reference the 1979 Editions of the Uniform Building Code~ <br />the Uniform Plumbing Code} the Un~fgrm..M~9h~nical Code} the Uniform Housing Code, <br />the Uniform Fire. Code~ and the National Electrical Code (1978 Edition)~ and amend- <br />ing sections of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton which adopt and...'mod.i..fy <br />those Codes <br /> Mr. Cullum'presented his report dated April 11, 1980, regarding thiS'matter' and <br />an amendment to the Fees and Charges Resolution dated April 22, 1980. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Ordinance No. 932, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />after making the following findings: (1) there have been numerous instances re- <br />cently of fatalities in Hotels and Motels throughout the United States; (2) sub- <br />sequent investigation has revealed the units involved to be in substantial compli- <br />ance with the Building Codes; (3) the fires and fatalities were proven to be caused <br />by poor maintenance, bypassing of safety features and/or excessive fire load caused <br />by furnishings, wall coverings and floor coverings; (4) the use of automatic fire <br />sprinklers has proven to be a reliable life-saving system; and (5) the City of <br />Pleasanton is desirous of protecting life and limb of all persons residing in Hotels <br />and Motels within the City of Pleasanton; and adopting by reference the 1979 Edi- <br />tions of the Uniform Building Code, the Uniform Plumbing Code, the UniformMechani- <br />cal Code, the Uniform Housing Code, the Uniform Fire Code, and the National Electri- <br />cal Code (1978 Edition), and amending sections of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br />Pleasanton which adopt and modify those Codes, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 80-105, amending the resolution establishing fees and charges for <br />various municipal services of the City of Pleasanton (Resolution No. 77-123) to in- <br />crease certain fees for Building Division services, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />Protest Hearin~ for Annexation No. 78~ FrommProperty~. fo~..~ll owners of land in <br />the territory <br /> Mr. Schaumburg presented his report dated April 17, 1980, regarding this matter, <br />stating that the object of this hearing is to give the other property owners within <br /> <br /> 5. 4/22/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
