Adoption of Resolution No. 80-101, approving Plans and Specifications for bid <br /> for a Fire Department Elevating Stream Apparatus and authorizing Call for Bids. <br /> Councilmember Mohr suggested that the Stoneridge Shopping Center be requested <br /> to pay for all or a portion of this equipment since it will be used mainly for <br /> the protection of this area. Staff was instructed to investigate this matter. <br /> <br />n. Adoption of Resolution No. 80-102, accepting an Easement from Howard C. Hansen <br /> and Ann Marie Mix for City Water Pipeline Easement and authorizing the City <br /> Manager to execute the Letter of Agreement. <br /> <br />o. Moved Authorization to Call for Bids to move House at 391 St. Mary Street, to <br /> item 12h on the agenda at the request of Councilmember Butler. <br /> <br />p. Proclaim May 11-17, 1980, as Small Business Week in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />q. Proclaim April 28-May 4, 1980, as RowellRanch Rodeo Week. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br />Request of Vice ~a~or Wood to change tit~e to Mayor Pro-Tempore <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer declared this item continued to the meeting of <br />May 13, 1980, for full Council attendance. <br /> <br /> Summer Law Clerk <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a letter from the City Attorney, dated April I~', 1980, <br />requesting authorization to hire a summer law clerk. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Resolu- <br />tion No. 80-103, authorizing the City Attorney to hire a summer law clerk from June <br />through August, 1980, at a budget amount not to exceed $3,000.00, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Kephart and Wood <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler reported on the Zone 7 meeting of April 16, 1980, stating <br />there were two items of interest: (1) the Zone's policy on their responsibility for <br />groundwater quality regardless of jurisdictional lines; and (2) possible provision <br />of reduced water rates for park watering during the summer. After discussion, Council <br />instructed staff to advise Zone 7 that the City would favor any proposal that would <br />decrease the cost of water to irrigate parks during the summer that would not result <br />in an overall increase in the cost of waterpurchased from Zone 7 to be resold. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Frank C. Brandes, Jr., 6889 Corte Sonada, congratulated the newly elected. <br />Councilmembers and stated it was a privilege to pass the gavel to Mayor Mercer. <br />Mr. Brandes thanked Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Butler for the opportunity of <br />being Mayor for the past year.
