No action was required or taken by Council on <br /> this item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Land Use and Houstn~ Elements Review <br /> Mr. Brown presented the report of the Director of Planning dated December 31, <br />1979, regarding this matter. He also presented Resolution 80-1 adopted by the <br />Human Services Commission on January 7, 1980, recommending that a member of the <br />Human Services Commission be represented on the Land Use/Circulation Review Com- <br />mittee. Mr. Brown advised he had not recommended that a member of the Human <br />Services Committee be represented on this Review Committee because of this Com- <br />mission's involvement in the Housing Element Review Committee, however, he had no <br />objection to a member being on the Land/Use/Circulation Review Committee. He <br />stated that if Council approved this request, then he'would recommend an addi- <br />tional member be added to the Committee from the Planning Commission making a <br />total of 17 members on the Committee. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer asked how the meetings would be advertised and how the <br />public would be allowed input at these meetings. Mr. Brown advised the meetings <br />would be advertised in the same manner as any other City meeting, there would be <br />an agenda prepared and distributed, and on the agenda would be an item allowing <br />for public input at each meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer inquired as to the approximate number of meetings re- <br />quired to complete the review and report. Mr. Harris advised that the review and <br />report should be completed in 10-12 meetings, scheduled every two weeks. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that the City Council be furnished a status <br />report as the meetings progress. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />the Human Services Commission be invited to participate in the Lan Use/Circulation <br />review. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the <br />Land Use/Circulation Review Committee be comprised of 17 members: 10 to be chosen <br />"at large" from the community with each member of the City Council making two of <br />the appointments; 2 members from the Planning Commission; 1 member from the Park <br />and Recreation Commission; 1 member from the Housing Authority Board; 1 member from <br />the Human Services Commission; and 2 members selected by the Council from a list <br />of names submitted by the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br /> 10. 1/8/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
