Zoning for the proper~y is I-G <br />.(General Industrial) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 81:116) dated April 8, 1981, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Hock, representing Kaiser Sand and Gravel, stated he concurred with <br />staff recommendations for approval of the variance, and stated he felt the Board <br />of Adjustment could have made the findings that were indicated in the staff re- <br />commendations. Mr. Heck advised that other structures in the area are greater in <br />height; that there are no objections by the Fire Department; there is no danger <br />to surrounding properties; and that the structure will not be detrimental to the <br />health, safety, and welfare of the community. He urged Council to make the neces- <br />sary findings to grant the variance. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer suggested that trees be planted as a buffer strip. Mr. Hock <br />stated that trees had been plated before but that not all of them had lived so <br />he thought maybe a fence would be a better solution. He advised that some sort <br />of buffer will be considered. <br /> <br /> 5. 4/10/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
