Adoption of Resolution No. 81-94, authorizing Pleasanton's LAVWMA representatives <br /> to vote for approval of the amendment to the contract between East Bay Dischar- <br /> ger's Authority and LAVWMA. <br /> <br />m. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-95, restating Pleasanton City Council's position <br /> in opposition to any additional Jail facilities at Santa Rita that would in- <br /> crease the inmate population, and favoring thelocation of a pre-trial detention <br /> facility in Hayward, and authorizing the Mayor to send a letter to Supervisor <br /> Don Excell advising him of this position. <br /> <br />n. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-96, approving Agreement with Blackwell Homes for <br /> reimbursement of a portion of traffic signal installation, Mission Drive and <br /> Sunol Boulevard, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute the <br /> Agreement. <br /> <br />o. ProclaimApril as National Fair Housing Month. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Cou~cilmembe½s Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler abstained from voting on Approval of the City Council <br />Minutes for March 24, 1981, due to his absence from that meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Butler presented a draft resolution to the City Council regarding <br />the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 81-97, urging the United States Nuclear <br />Regulatory Commission to expedite the licensing process so that the Diablo Canyon <br />Nuclear Plant can be licensed at the earliest possible time consonant with a reason- <br />able assessment of protection of public health and safety, and that this resolution <br />be transmitted to the President of the United States, the Governor of California, <br />each United States Senator and Member of the House of Representatives from California, <br />and the Chairman of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: counci~emb~s' Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested staff to investigate the possibility of making a <br />parking zone use out of the Southern Pacific tracks when the railroad consolidation <br />is completed. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested that Bob Lovell, a City Public Works Inspector, be <br />commended by Council for his outstanding efforts in the completion of the Snack <br />Bar/Restroom Facility at the Youth Sports Park. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer advised that on April 29, 1981', Alameda County Mayors and City <br />Managers are planning a trip to Sacramento to discuss the current budget as pro- <br />posed by Governor Brown and how it will affect cities.
