Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. Mrs. Kathy Ziegler, 6244 Robin Court, urged City Council to approve this amendment for the best interests of the community. No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that Ordinance No. 956, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, amend- ing Section 2-5.38, Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to change the rear yard setback and open space requirements for the R-1-6500, R-1-7500, R-1-8500 and RM-4000 residential district, be introduced. It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 81-8, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental study done for this pro~ect, that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate to zone a portion of the recently annexed property included in Annexation No. 78 con- sisting of approximately 127 acres located east of the extension of ValleyLAvenue between Bernal Avenue and the Arroyo Del Valle to the R-1-6500, R-1-7500, R-1-8500, R-I-iO,000, R-i-20,000 and the Public and Institutional District or any other zoning district consistent with the General Plan, be adopted.
