The staff recommendations and <br /> conditions of December 10, 1980, has been explained and I fully <br /> support the need for this type of business in the City of Pleasanton". <br /> <br /> Ms. Christine Hoptry, 4123 Payne Road, stated that four of her surrounding neigh- <br />bors had originally had concerns about noise and the affect of this center in having <br />more children in the neighborhood on children living there, but these people were now <br />in support of the daycare center. She presented letters from the following persons <br />in support of her daycare center: <br /> <br /> Mr. and Mrs. W. Jefferson, 4016 Crest Court <br /> John and Mary Ann Matthews, 6789 Taffy Court <br /> <br /> Council also received the following letters in support of Faris Reali's daycare <br />center: <br /> <br /> Penny Bolousek, 3952 Empire Court <br /> Janice and Lonnte Micheli, 6352 Singletree Way <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in support of both daycare centers: <br /> <br /> John Matthews, 6789 Taffy Court <br /> Pat Glofky, Val Vista resident <br /> Lonnie Mtcheli, 6352 Singletree Way <br /> Helen Sullivant, 3961 Alma Court <br /> Debbie Hunt, 3015 Tonopah Circle <br /> Nancy Storch, Vintage Hills resident <br /> Pa~ Day, 2556 Via Espada <br /> Neighbor of Christine Hoptry <br /> <br /> There were approximately 50-60 persons in the audience in support of these two <br />daycare centers. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to these two appeals. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood asked what age children were included in the daycare centers. <br />He was advised the age is 0-17 years of age. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart stated there was no question of the need for this type of <br />child care but he had concerns about setting a precedent.
