441 <br /> <br /> planned unit development proposed for the 43 acre site located on the east side of <br /> Foothill Road approximately 800 feet south of the City limit line, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested that Condition 29 be amended to not allow wooden poles <br /> because of their long range upkeep and maintenance costs. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he felt Foothill Road should be widened as proposed <br /> by staff in Condition 13. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br /> approving the application of Foothill Knolls for development of an 81-lot single- <br /> family residential planned unit development proposed for the 43 acre site located <br /> on the east side of Foothill Road approximately 800 feet south of the City limit <br /> line subject to staff conditions and amending Condition 29 not to allow wooden <br /> street light poles. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember Butler <br />NOES: Councilmembers Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she concurred with the Planning Commission that the <br />density is too high. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he did not feel Foothill Road should ever be widened to six <br />lanes; that the maximum should be no more than four lanes. He stated the developer's <br />offer to dedicate the right-of-way for future use seems a plausible solution. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers Wood and Kephart concurred. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, that Ordinance No. 987, to be read by title only and waiving further <br />reading thereof, approving PUD-81-7, application of Foothill Knolls for a develop- <br />ment plan for an 81-lot single-family residential planned unit development proposed <br />for the 43 acre site located on the east side of Foothill Road approximately 800 <br />feet south of the City limit line, subject to conditions contained in the staff <br />report to the Planning Commission dated July 15, 1981, deleting Conditions 13 and <br />35, amending Condition 29 to prohibit wooden electroliers and adding a revised <br />Condition 13 which reads as follows: "That the developer will make an irrevocable- <br />offer of dedication for the Foothill Road right-of-way to accommodate four travel <br />lanes, it being understood that until the dedication is accepted, the land will be <br />part of the adjacent lots and under the control and maintenance of the owners <br />thereof, for the full length of theland", be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> By this action the appeal of Foothill Knolls from the decision of the Planning <br />Commission denying this application, is approved. <br /> <br /> 4. 8/11/81 <br /> <br /> <br />
