Vice Mayor Mohr declared the public hearing closed on the application and the <br />negative declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Resolution No. 82-211, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City~s guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate to <br />rezone the lots on the east side of Main Street between Abbie Street and the Southern <br />Pacific Transportation Company tracks from the "O/C-O" (Office-Civic Overlay) District <br />to the "C-C/C-O" (Central Commercial-Civic Overlay) District, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mohr <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Butler <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that <br />Ordinance No. 1041, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of the City of Pleasanton to fezone the lots on the east <br />side of Main Street between Abbie Street and the Southern Pacific Transportation <br />Company tracks from the "O/C-O" (Office-Civic Overlay) District to the "C-C/C-O" <br />(Central Commercial-Civic Overlay) District, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mohr <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Butler <br /> <br />Appeal of the City Council of a decision of the Design Review Board in approving <br />Z-82-40~ application of Rossi Development Company and Hopyard Associates for design <br />review approval of an approximately 36~000 sq. ft.~ one hundred unit motel and re- <br />lated facilities on an approximately two acre site located at the southeast corner <br />of 1-580 and Hopyard Road. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Develop- <br />ment) Commercial and Office District <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the <br />project~ the Director of Planning and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed project would not have any pgtential significant adverse effects on <br />the environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. <br />This Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division~ 200 Bernal <br />Avenue~ Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed either to the <br />planning staff prior to the above meeting, or directly to the City Council at the <br />above noticed meeting <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 82:218) dated June 15, 1982, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes indicated this matter was appealed for review because of <br />the significance of this entrance to the City and because of the size of the project. <br />A map of the project was brought forward and discussion ensued regarding access through <br />the Burger King, Buttercup Restaurant and Schoeber's Racketball easements. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr declared the public hearing open on the appeal and the negative <br />declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Ferreri, 865 Abbie Street, speaking on behalf of the applicant, stated <br />he concurred with the staff report. He brought to the attention of the Council the <br /> Cit ' <br />fact that pursuant to the y s motel tax, the project will be bringing in approxi- <br />mately $50,000 per year to the City funds. <br /> <br /> 5. 6/22/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
