235 <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, that Ordinance No. 1065, to be read by title only and waiving further <br />reading thereof, approving the application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone <br />(Annexation No. 91) an approximately 35 acre site located immediately northwest of <br />the intersection of Martin and Mohr Avenues to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)- <br />Low Density Residential District with at least a minimum 20,000 sq. ft. lot size, <br />be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone an approximat~lZ 78 acre site <br />located at the northern terminus of Martin Avenue and just south and across the <br />Arroyo Mocho Canal from the Pleasanton Meadows area to the PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Low DensitX Residential District <br /> <br /> Consider adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> (Contd. Open from 10-12-82) <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 82:486) dated December 7, 1982, regarding <br />this matter. He recommended a change in Condition 1, to read as follows: "1. That <br />the developer be aware that construction of the bridge across the Arroyo Mocho at <br />Martin Avenue (subject to reimbursement from previously paid in-lieu fees) will be <br />a requirement imposed on the approval of the development plan for the subject pro- <br />perty". <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented a letter received from Eugene and Shirley Lauer, 2221 <br />Martin Avenue, stating they felt the whole Martin-Trenery area should be treated <br />as a unit and some compromise affected so that everyone in the area is given the <br />same protection against greatly increased traffic, particularly since lot sizes on <br />Martin Avenue are larger than a number of those on Trenery Drive. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing open on the application and the negative <br />declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gil Barbee, Land Surveyor, 147 Bernal Avenue, representing the Chu property, <br />stated he concurred with the staff report and Planning Commission recommendations. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Shirley Lauer, 2221 Martin Avenue, opposed the application stating she is <br />concerned about traffic, and felt the east-west road extention should be within the <br />Chu property instead of on the Waiterson property. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed <br />on the application and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Resolution No. 82-489, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate to <br />prezone an approximately 78 acre site located at the northern terminus of Martin <br />Avenue and just south and across the Arroyo Mocho Canal from the Pleasanton Meadows <br />area to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Low Density Residential District, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr suggested the word "will"...be required, set forth in staff's <br />proposed condition, be changed to "may" be required. <br /> <br /> 9. 12/13/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
