The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Mohr <br /> <br /> Implementation of Fire Protection Stud~ <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Finance Director and Fire Chief (SR 82:269) <br /> dated August 4, 1982, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented a letter from John C. Foreman, Jr., 3239 Chardonnay, <br /> dated August 7, 1982, expressing opposition to the report and stating he felt a <br /> 100 foot aerial ladder truck should be considered. <br /> <br /> Chief Hill reviewed in detail the various needs relative to the number of fire <br />~- stations, station locations, number of personnel required, and type of apparatus <br />F~. needed. Chief Hill stated he felt confident that a 65 foot aerial ladder truck <br />CO would be adequate to serve the needs in Pleasanton. <br />[] After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Council- <br />[] member Brandes, that Resolution No. 82-306, authorizing the initiation of the assess- <br />~ ment district petition for the funding for all related construction costs of a fire <br /> station and training facility, and if the 60% approval is obtained through the cir- <br /> culation of the assessment district petition, instruct the City Bond Counsel to seek <br /> court validation as to the appropriateness of establishing an assessment district <br /> for all related costs of fire facilities construction; and instructing staff to be- <br /> gin negotiations to secure property for the fire station location, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br /> -- NOES: None <br /> ~BSENT: Councilmember Mohr <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mayor Butler presented the City Council agenda planning report for the months <br /> of August, September, and October. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the Information Report of the Fire Chief (IR 82:23) <br /> regarding the fire loss of Pleasanton's Grass Squad vehicle. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler presented the Information Report of the Director of Public Works <br /> and Utilities (IR 82:22) dated August 3, 1982, transmitting the Minutes from the <br /> Staff Traffic Committee Meeting of July 28, 1982. No action was required or taken <br /> by Council on this item. <br /> <br /> Review of bids and award of contract for Amador Communi'ty Park Improvements~ Project <br /> 82-10 <br /> <br /> Review of bids and award of contract for Rehabilitation of the Westwind Building in <br /> Amador Community Park, Project 82-11 <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 82:311) dated August 5, 1982, regarding these <br /> two items. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, to <br /> - refer these items to the Park and Recreation Commission for their review and comment. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Bruno, representing the Park and Recreation Commission, stated-he had <br /> talked to each Commissioner regarding these two projects and they all felt the pro- <br /> jects should be done as presented in the report and without any further delay. <br /> <br /> 13. 8/10/82 <br /> <br /> <br />
