Zoning for <br />~he property is L-I (Light Industrial) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:556) dated November 30, 1983, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gregg Sulzer, representing Hewlett Packard, reviewed the use of the facility <br />stating it will be used to train users of their products and to demonstrate their <br />products. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curtis Schneider, Hawley-Peterson, architects, displayed the building materials <br />proposed to be used for the facility, stating it will be precast concrete and glass. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curt Altschul, 6324, Calle Altamire, stated that a referendum petition opposing <br />the amendment to the Growth Management Element of the General Plan, with 3000 signa- <br />tures, had been presented today to the City Clerk. He stated that in his opinion <br />it is inconsistent and illegal for Council to further consider any development or <br />design review of the Hacienda Business Park until the results of the referendum are <br />known. The City Attorney advised that the Judge stated in the November 9, 1983 tem- <br />porary restraining order that development on the Hewlett Packard site was not en- <br />joined, and that no approvals of the City were enjoined. He further added that the <br />general plan amendment is now in effect; if.the referendum is successful this will <br />be a problem for the Court to sort out.
