469 <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Fernandez, 2385 Sandpiper Way, resident and businessman in Pleasanton <br />for 16 years, and former President of the Chamber of Commerce, stated that during <br />that time a redevelopment plan had failed and many of the capital improvement pro- <br />jects planned have been left uncompleted. He stated that many of these projects <br />are now being accomplished by Hacienda Business Park. He applauded the actions of' <br />the City Council for their efforts in this planning. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ellie Lange, 7666 Flagstone Drive, stated she is proud to be a member of <br />this community where these changes have occurred and where there will be benefits <br />to all residents. She cited flood control improvements, and improvements to the <br />sports park. She applauded actions of the City Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Chuck Weidel, 5321 Mallard Drive, resident since 1972, stated he is con- <br />vinced that Pleasanton is a place of planned progress and he feels comfortable with <br />what is planned and would like for it to continue. He expressed gratitute for the <br />high quality of the Hacienda Business Park project, and asked that it be approved. <br /> <br /> Ms. Suzanne Patzkowski, 511 Mavis Drive, stated there are great things in store <br />for everyone in Pleasanton. She cited the need for jobs in this area. She stated <br />that Pleasanton is "a little bit of heaven", and she felt it should be shared. She <br />urged Council to adopt the general plan amendment and allow Hacienda Business Park <br />to continue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, speaking both as a resident and as President of the <br />Chamber of Commerce, stated the Board of Director of the Chamber met in special <br />session over the weekend and voted to support the general plan amendment. He stated <br />that Hacienda Business Park will bring many advantageous social services to the City <br />as well as economic benefit. He commended Council and the developer for their inte- <br />grity, sincerity, and courage. <br /> <br /> Ms. ragmar Fulton, 4536 Miradot Drive, stated she supports the Hacienda Business <br />Park as proposed and. presented. She stated that since all negative impacts have been <br />mitigated there is no reason not to approve the project. She stated that growth~s <br />inevitable, and that it is impossible to have a one-to-one balance on housing and-I <br />jobs. She urged Council to use their power to decide what is best for the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michele Dutra, 1695 Calle Santiago, encouraged Council to approve the amend- <br />ment to the general plan and the PUD application as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission at their last meeting. <br /> <br /> Ms. Muriel Capitlo, #9 Twelve Oaks Drive, urged Council to vote in the affirma- <br />tive for the general plan amendment and the PUD application. She stated that condi- <br />tions of approval will control any problems. She stated this development is a top <br />quality business project and the benefits far outweigh any negative impacts. <br /> <br /> Ms. Judy Mayhew, 5584 San Jose Drive, President of the Pleasanton Downtown Asso- <br />ciation, stated this group supports the general plan amendment and business park <br />application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Art Dunkley, 4672 Second Street, stated he supports the general plan amend- <br />ment; it will allow more job opportunities to residents in the area. He stated he <br />also supports the PUD application of Hacienda Business Park, because PUD zoning <br />gives greater control of the development process and is an ideal mechanism for <br />development of Hacienda Business Park. <br /> <br /> 7. 11/8/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
