No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed <br /> on the application and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he favors office type building over industrial develop- <br />ment in this area. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler stated that rezoning such as this can be considered at anytime for <br />this type of acreage and does not conflict with the ruling on the PUD application. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Resolution No. 83-480, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate to <br />fezone approximately twenty-one acres owned by Prudential Insurance Company of America <br />located north and south of West Las Positas Boulevard west of its intersection with <br />Stoneridge Drive from L-I (Light Industrial) to the I-P (Industrial Park) District, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Ordinance No. 1107, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of the Prudential Insurance Company of America to fezone <br />approximately twenty-one acres located north and south of West Las Positas Boulevard <br />west of its intersection with Stoneridge Drive from L-I (Light Industrial) to the I-P <br />(Industrial Park) District, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler' <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no special reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Design Review Board and Planning Commission at their meeting of <br />10-12-83 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:450) dated October 18, 1983, regarding this <br />matter for the information of the Council. No action was required or taken by Council <br />on the item. <br /> <br />Need for a Park in the Downtown Area West of Main Street and Possible Park Sites <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Director of Recreation and Human Resources <br />(SR 83:478) dated October 20, 1983, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mohr, to refer this matter to the Planning Commission for them to consider <br />jointly with the Park and Recreation Commission, for review and recommendation rela- <br />tive to a specific park site in the downtown area west of Main Street. <br /> <br /> 9. 10/25/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
