379 <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in favor of the four applications: <br /> <br /> Ms. Diana Vitale, 1392 Vailwood Court, stated she realized the business park will <br /> bring more people to Pleasanton but it will create more jobs, decrease commute time, <br />~ eliminate flooding problems, and beautify the streets and roadways. She concluded by <br />[~ stating she felt Pleasanton is fortunate to have Hacienda Business Park locate here. <br />CD Mr. Mark Shaw, 3277 Gulfstream, stated he is pleased with the improvements and <br />m beautification made to the street, he feels the design of the buildings is much better <br />[] than other business parks in the bay area, and he would vote in favor of the projects. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynn Lee, 4646 K!amath Court, stated he has lived in Pleasanton since 1960, <br /> and all of the recent changes have been for the be~ter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Childers, 652 Windmill Lane, stated he had moved to Pleasanton because <br /> of the changes going on. He advised that he is a traffic controller, and feels there <br /> will not be any traffic congestion because of the well-planned design of the roadway <br /> and the computerized si~nalization. <br /> <br /> Ms. Judy Mayhew, 5584 San Jose, stated she feels the majority of people in <br /> Pleasanton are in favor of the project. She stated she is a supporter of controlled <br /> and quality growth, and feels that Hacienda Business Park will be of great benefit <br /> to the community. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Fernandez, 2385 Sandpiper Way, stated he has lived and worked in Pleasan- <br /> ton for fifteen years and is delighted with the North Pleasanton development. He <br /> commended the City Council for their positive actions and for the controls being <br /> placed on Hacienda Business Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ed Kinney, 5493 Greenfield Way, former Councilmember and Mayor, stated he <br /> was familiar with the industrial planning process. He stated that a lot of work has <br /> gone on in previous years with the City Councils, Planning Commissions, various <br /> citizens committee and city staff, to bring this type of development to Pleasanton. <br /> He stated the results far exceed what was expected. He commended Council and staff <br /> for perservering in quality. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to the four applications: <br /> <br /> Mr. Jerry Goudreau, 5451 Corte Paloma, presented his written report dated October <br /> 11, 1983, updating his response to the draft Environmental Impact Report on the Growth <br /> Managenent Element General Plan amendment. He urged Council to go slow and to care- <br /> fully consider the incremental analysis relative to jobs, traffic, and environmental <br /> impact. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curt Altschul, President of Citizens for Balanced Growth, stated this group <br /> opposes the ten additional buildings, advising that previous correspondence already <br /> made a part of the record, outline the reasons for opposition to further buildings <br /> in the Hacienda Business Park. He stated he felt there should be a new Environmental <br /> Impact Report, and that no decision should be made by Council until after receipt of <br /> the report from the Citizens General Plan Review Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joe Callahan, representing Callahan Pentz Properties, stated that thorough <br /> reports and project housing reports were attached to the staff report. He stated <br /> there were inaccuracies presented by Mr. Goudreau. He advised that the applications <br /> meet requirements of the original PUD and all regulations will be enforced by the <br /> CC&R's. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Butler declared the public hearing closed <br /> on the four applications under consideration. <br /> <br /> 8. 10/11/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
