'i81 <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br /> NOES: Councilmembers Mercer and Wood on item 4f <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAINED:Counci!member Wood on item 4a <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Wood requested the Staff Traffic Committee to investigate the <br /> feasibility of a Yield Sign on Hopyard Road through the divider north of Valley <br /> Avenue. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood asked if landscaping for the new police building has been <br /> taken care of. Mr. Walker advised that landscaping is a part of the building con- <br /> tract. Councilmember Wood stated it is possible he could get the landscaping donated. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he has met with the Park and Recreation Commission, <br />the Director of Recreation, and the Vintage Hills Homeowners Association regarding <br />the possibility of development of a park on the 9+ acres on Vineyard Avenue which is <br />now a part of the County. He advised it is proposed to use approximately 4~ acres <br />for park land and the balance in high density residential. After discussion, it was <br />moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, to initiate a <br />general plan amendment for 9+ acres on Vineyard Avenue for park land and high density <br />residential. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested staff to prepare an updated financial report on <br />the North Pleasanton area and benefits to the community. He stated he felt the Cris <br />Report is out-of-date. Mr. Walker advised that the Director of Finance has already <br />started preparing such a report and that it should be completed by the first City <br />Council meeting in November. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr asked for a development fee report at the same time. <br /> <br /> Mayor Butler stated he had received a letter from the County Administrator regard- <br />ing redistricting, and asking for comments. Mayor Butler stated he did not plan to <br />make any comments relative to this matter. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Robert Hadley, 3895 Northwood Court, Pleasanton, addressed Council regarding <br />the motor home parking problem at his residence. He thanked the police department for <br />their assistance in trying to alleviate the matter, however, due to city ordinance <br />everything has been done that can be done under the present laws but the problem still <br />exists. He presented Council with ordinance from the cities of Hayward and Walnut <br />Creek regarding regulation of parking of recreational vehicles. He requested Council <br />to consider taking action to revise Pleasanton's current ordinance, After discussion, <br />Council instructed the City Attorney to review the ordinances of other cities and to <br />come back with a recommendation regarding Pleasanton's ordinance. Councilmember Mercer <br />requested that Mr. Hadley be notified when this matter is considered by Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Hughes, 587 Touriga Court, stated he has spent $6,000.00 in order to <br />place his motor home on his property, and did not want any ordinance change that <br />might affect his keeping his recreational vehicle at his residence. <br /> <br /> 4. 9/27/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
