REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment, Design Review Boardr and Plannin~ Commis- sion at their meeting of 8-24-83 Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:354) dated August 25, 1983, regarding this matter for the information of the Council. Councilmember Mercer requested that item Z-83-148, application of Charles Chester- man for design review approval for the construction of a four-unit studio apartment complex to be located behind the existing residence at 4834 Harrison Street, be appealed because several residents did not feel they had been allowed sufficient testimony relative to the item. Council concurred. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Consideration of Request for Annexation of 127 Acres North of Sycamore Road Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 83:369) dated August 31, 1983, regarding this matter. Mr. Joseph A. Ca!abrigo, Project Manager for Land Use, representing Pleasanton School District, reviewed the history of the 42.53 acre surplus school site. He stated that other property owners would like to join in the annexation but he was not sure if all property owners wanted to be included. He stated he is aware of the Happy Valley annexation study being conducted at the present time and had talked to members of that committee. He stated it is his feeling and that of the School Dis- trict that this property is appropriate for low density residential zoning as set forth in the general plan. It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 83-393, denying the request for annexation of 127 acres north of Sycamore Road, and directing the staff to advise the proponents that this matter will be again considered for annexation after completion of the Happy Valley Annexa- tion Study, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember Wood Report on Request to Purchase SurplUs C~tZ Property at the Northwest Corner of Fair Street and Division Street Mayor Butler declared this item dismissed from the agenda at the request of staff. Matters for the Information of the Council Mr. Walker presented the City Councir Agenda Planning Report for the months of September, October, and November. Mr. Warnick presented his Information Report (IR 83:19) dated September 7, 1983, transmitting Minutes from the Staff Traffic Committee meeting of August 24, 1983. Councilmember Mercer suggested that consideration be given to an "exit only" driveway onto Santa Rita Road from the Post Office. This matter was referred to the Staff Traffic Committee for their consideration and recommendation. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Lon~ Term Agreement with Stoneson Development Corporation Mayor Butler declared this item continued to the meeting of September 27, 1983, at the request of staff. 8. 9/13/83
