195 <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no special reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment, Design Review Boardr and Plannin~ Commis- <br /> sion at their meeting of 8-24-83 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:354) dated August 25, 1983, regarding this <br /> matter for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that item Z-83-148, application of Charles Chester- <br /> man for design review approval for the construction of a four-unit studio apartment <br /> complex to be located behind the existing residence at 4834 Harrison Street, be <br /> appealed because several residents did not feel they had been allowed sufficient <br /> testimony relative to the item. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Consideration of Request for Annexation of 127 Acres North of Sycamore Road <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 83:369) dated August 31, 1983, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joseph A. Ca!abrigo, Project Manager for Land Use, representing Pleasanton <br />School District, reviewed the history of the 42.53 acre surplus school site. He <br />stated that other property owners would like to join in the annexation but he was <br />not sure if all property owners wanted to be included. He stated he is aware of the <br />Happy Valley annexation study being conducted at the present time and had talked to <br />members of that committee. He stated it is his feeling and that of the School Dis- <br />trict that this property is appropriate for low density residential zoning as set <br />forth in the general plan. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 83-393, denying the request for annexation of 127 acres north of <br />Sycamore Road, and directing the staff to advise the proponents that this matter <br />will be again considered for annexation after completion of the Happy Valley Annexa- <br />tion Study, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Report on Request to Purchase SurplUs C~tZ Property at the Northwest Corner of Fair <br />Street and Division Street <br /> Mayor Butler declared this item dismissed from the agenda at the request of staff. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Walker presented the City Councir Agenda Planning Report for the months of <br />September, October, and November. <br /> <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his Information Report (IR 83:19) dated September 7, 1983, <br />transmitting Minutes from the Staff Traffic Committee meeting of August 24, 1983. <br />Councilmember Mercer suggested that consideration be given to an "exit only" driveway <br />onto Santa Rita Road from the Post Office. This matter was referred to the Staff <br />Traffic Committee for their consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Lon~ Term Agreement with Stoneson Development Corporation <br /> Mayor Butler declared this item continued to the meeting of September 27, 1983, <br />at the request of staff. <br /> <br /> 8. 9/13/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
